Former Billionaire Ted Turner: ‘I’ve Got a Few Million Left’
Being a tree-hugging do-gooder has its price. Just check out the dwindling finances of former media mogul and philanthropist Ted Turner’s checkbook.
Turner appeared on “Morning Joe” on Dec. 8 and had some interesting things to say about Obama’s tax-compromise plan. Co-host Mika Brzezinksi asked if Turner was happy to keep his tax cut, to which he replied, “Uh, no…. I give away so much money I don’t pay that much taxes. But, I don’t have much either.”
He then went on to proclaim, “I’ve got a few million left.”
In 1997, Turner pledged $1 billion to the United Nations. He was also the founder of the news station CNN and has been outspoken about many issues, most recently global warming.
